Coaching QBS at Best of the Midwest
Written by Paul Kilzer - on Feb. 16th 2021
I was part of the QB Coaching staff in February of this year. This coaching was on one of the best camps in the US for recruiting. The Best of the Midwest camp, run by fellow coach Greg Brookey, in Westfield Indiana, (a suburb of Indianapolis). This camp has housed some of the most outstanding high school talents for over the last 10 years. It includes a lot of players we see in the NFL and D1 College players.

Even though Covid-19 was a little of a step back for all of us, we still had the chance to have over 400 young athletes competing. Also, a waiting list of 26 or more that did not get their entries in time. I must say that this camp is one of the best that I have ever coached on. It is an outstanding one, all these thanks to Greg Brookey and the staff for keeping it this way.

Above is pictured the QB Coaching staff for this year, left to right in the picture above is me (I handle a younger group of QBS and a few HS QBS on my own). Then, Judah Holtzclaw, Ron “Coach Sink” Roesink’s 2022 6’6” 225 lbs. Ohio, D1 First Team All-State Quarterback, and last years' camp MVP, who was invited for the first time by Coach Brookey to help Ron coach the QBS. Judah did a great job in his debut as a QB coach, demonstrating footwork and delivery to all 38 QBS attending. He gave constructive criticism and giving praise to each player making good throws.

Next in line is Coach Sink, and next to him was our new friend from Ft. Wayne, Indiana Antoine Taylor who also coaches QBS. We had a great time being part of these guys coaching. They did an incredible job, work really hard and preparing them for a bright future in sports.
